Answer: Imam Íusayn (Ýa) possessed a special rank and position in the Muslim community of his time. He was the son of FÁÔimah ZahrÁ (Ýa) and therefore, the grandson of the Prophet (Ò). Both Imam Íasan (Ýa) and Imam Íusayn (Ýa) were greatly loved by the Prophet (Ò) and the Prophet (Ò) narrated various traditions to his companions in regards to them; due to this reason, they were greatly loved by the Muslim community as a whole. We will narrate some of these traditions from the Prophet (Ò) below: 1- The Prophet (Ò) said the following in regards to Imam Íasan (Ýa) and Imam Íusayn (Ýa): Íasan and Íusayn are the masters of the youth of paradise.[1] 2- Another tradition has mentioned: A group of the Prophet’s (Ò) companions were going to a gathering and the Prophet (Ò) was walking in front of them. Along the way, the Prophet (Ò) saw Íusayn; when he went to embrace him, Íusayn began to run this way and that way. The Prophet (Ò) began to smile when he saw this and he ended up eventually picking him up. He then kissed Íusayn and said: Íusayn is from me and I am from Íusayn. Whoever loves Íusayn, God will love him.[2] 3- The Prophet (Ò) would place Íasan and Íusayn upon his shoulders and he would show his love through lines of poetry that he recited for them.[3] Sometimes, the Prophet (Ò) would be giving a sermon on the pulpit when he would see Íasan and Íusayn. He would then (stop his speech and) come down, kissing and embracing them in front of everyone (in order to show everyone their rank and position).[4] In other instances, people would ask him which one of his family members he loved the most.
